The project explores food, place, and community through textile processes, using natural dyes made from local plants and food waste. Through collecting stories and materials, I created a large communal tablecloth alongside woven textile pieces that record time and territory through materiality it carries.

Activated during a public gathering, the tablecloth became a participatory artwork, inviting people to share food and contribute through stitching. The work functions as an evolving archive of encounters, where gestures, stains, and materials reflect the relationship between community, environment, and shared experience.

This project, The Cloth, was developed during the Edible Commons – Performing the Future of Food residency, co-funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe programme and hosted by NGO Xarkis within the PIKNIK framework in Droushia, Cyprus.
