My practice investigates how textiles carry memory, knowledge and transformation. I am interested in the ways materials, patterns and making processes hold traces of the places and cultures from which they emerge, and how these can change when carried across time and geography. I draw from traditional textile practices such as weaving, embroidery, batik and block printing, not as fixed or nostalgic forms, but as living languages that can be questioned, translated and reimagined. Working with natural fibers, plant dyes and found materials, I embrace slow, embodied processes of making as a way of connecting with inherited knowledge while questioning the systems of speed, consumption and standardization that shape contemporary life.
My work develops through processes of collecting, translating, layering and transforming. I combine textiles with cellulose fibers, glass, metal and sound, creating installations, sculptural objects and interactive works that bring together the organic and industrial, fragile and durable, familiar and unfamiliar. Often rooted in personal experience and a particular sense of place, the work considers how cultural memory is preserved, altered and transmitted between generations. I am interested in the tension between what we inherit and what we choose to transform, and in how traditional forms can become a starting point for new ways of thinking about identity, material relationships and the future.
